Nigeria to host Iran animation

Iranian animation ‘Pet Man’ is to vie at the Inshort Film Festival in Nigeria.

Directed by Marzieh Abrar-Paydar, the animated piece will compete at the first edition of the Nigerian event.

‘Pet Man’ tells the story of a pet shop owner who is sleeping in the shop. He sees himself in a scary cage with other animals. Trying to break the cage, he faces a barrier every time.

The animation has so far taken part at a number of international events, including the 40th Festival international du Court Metrage in France.

The 1st edition of Inshort Film Festival will be held in Lagos, Nigeria, slated for December 20 – 22, 2018.

The festival, , in partnership with Goethe-Institute Nigeria, will be screening international short films from different genres with a strong focus on Nigerian and German short films, according to the event’s website. The festival is targeted at emerging filmmakers, student filmmakers and tele-movies of up to 30 minutes length.
